A cup of coffee at the crack of dawn, cold air brushing your face. This is how I love my morning to start. The car starts, the birds suddenly silent, puzzled by the strange noise that interrupts their morning choir. And then off for a drive, enjoying the changes of light, enjoying the many francolins and doves on the road, enjoying landscapes of unparalleled beauty, enjoying impalas and hyrax warming up with the first sun.

We soon get absorbed in our ancestral environment, we are nature again. This is what a safari is about, reconnecting with the wilderness that once was all over. Small tracks through the woods, their eyes keenly scanning to look for something, does not matter what, maybe a green pigeon on a fig tree or a leopard skulking in the undergrowth, does not matter what, the fun is the quest. The car stops and we look, we discover and we understand. Watching wild animals, getting surprised by what they do and how they do it, understand a bit more about them, ourselves and this world.

I am not there to tell a story, but to show one, to translate the language of nature for whom wants to listen. The hours pass the heat comes, animals needs to drink, all changes. The rivers are bursting with life. We are again part of what has always been, they drink, we suddenly feel thirsty. Energy is not to be wasted, shade is a saviour, till the afternoon comes. Gold light slowly transforms the scenery, the elephants move out from the rivers, they walk up the hills, without a noise as only elephant can do. The sun is setting, baboons climb up the tree, as it is for us, darkness is fear. The lions roar, it resonates in our heart, because once we were there bold by day terrified by night.
